Hungary Government Scholarship Benefits
Those who are awarded the Hungary Government Scholarship are eligible to receive the following benefits:
- Tuition-free education
- Exemption from the obligation to pay the registration fee
stipend paid on a monthly basis - A monthly contribution of approximately EUR 130, which is equivalent to HUF 43,700, will be made toward the costs of living in Hungary for twelve months until the completion of the studies.
- According to the current legislation in Hungary, the amount of the scholarship is HUF 140 000 (about EUR 450) each month for the first phase of education, which consists of four semesters, and HUF 180 000 (approximately EUR 580) for the second phase of education, which also consists of four semesters. This scholarship is awarded for twelve months per year until the end of the studies.
- The scholarship will provide either a free room in a dormitory or a payment of 40,000 HUF per month toward the costs of housing for the entirety of the scholarship period.
- Please take note that the HUF 40,000 per month is a contribution to the rental expenses of the dormitory. In larger cities, particularly in the capital city, this contribution would not cover the full amount of the rental costs. If the student does not live in the dormitory, then the HUF 40,000 per month might be considered a contribution.
- Insurance for medical expenses
- Health care services in accordance with the applicable Hungarian legislation (Act No. 80 of 1997, national health insurance card), as well as additional medical insurance for a maximum of HUF 65,000 (about EUR 205) per year per individual

How to Apply for the Hungary Government Scholarship
To apply for this scholarship, please follow these steps in order:

You have two options: go to the SH website to see which study fields are available in your nation, or use the DreamApply system to start an application and choose the appropriate study program. Here is a list of sending partners and study fields that are qualified.
Speak with your sending partner.
Applications must also be sent to the sending partner’s competent authorities. There may be variations in the due dates and specifications for submitting the application materials between sending partners. To find out the specific procedures followed by your sending partner, get in touch with them. This could be the relevant ministry, council, or the Hungarian Embassy in your area.
Sign up and send in your files.
The online application system, apply.stipendiumhungaricum.hu, is used to handle applications. There are 29 institutions and colleges with over 600 study programs available for you to peruse, but you can only select two. Verify that the programs you have selected are pertinent to the subject matter of your studies. Please keep in mind that you must find a supervisor if you are applying for a PhD program. Sending partner’s nomination list
By the end of February, sending partners will suggest the top candidates. The selected Hungarian higher education institutions will receive the nominated applications.
Entrance exams at Hungarian Universities
The selected candidates will be contacted directly by the universities to arrange a test date, which will take place between the middle of March and the end of May. For your application to be taken into consideration for the final list of scholarship recipients, you must receive at least 56 out of 100 points on your exam.
